Rider: Rahul Bike: CBZ Xtreme The occasion was 1st January 2012 and I wanted to start it with a ride on the Highway in the morning. I misse, and we were all set to hit the road for a breakfast ride to Azad Hind Dhaba. We started at around 7:30 am from my place and crossed Dakhineshwar, Bali and finally took NH2. The experience was awesome.We stopped at few places and clicked pictures on the Highway.Around 9 o clock we reached our destination.We had our breakfast and coffee and then , hence I was bit upset. So I called up one of my friend and ask him if he could join me. He agreed, wasted no time to decide for a short ride.The total distance covered was around 140 kms. | Leave a comment

Mukutmanipur Trip By Caravan Biking

Kolkata to Mukutmanipur

A fully sudden last moment decision and to cheer up the bad mood we the Caravan bikers decided to move towards Mukutmanipur as our 31st ride. Specially i took decision only 4hours ago. We started at about 4:30 in the morning having our Leader Jeet Roy. Others are Navonil, Jaydeep and Me. As usual we took NH2 upto panagar, shortly tea break at Hindushan hotel. Captured the magial moments ot sun rise. Then we entered Durgapur and last Bakura through SH9. Roads were like racing track indeed. At every zigzag we all took beautiful cornering. At about 11 am we reached to our destination. Mean while we had our combo breakfast and lunch at Panagar. We were very lucky coz lots of people came to have a picnic near mukutmanipur dam. We visited the whole dam on our bikes. We then srarted back at 2pm nd without any stop came to a dhaba near burdwan. It was unbelieveable hot such on 31st in Bakura. It was raining heavily … red alert is declared in almost every district in west Bengal … the time was 13th -15^th August ,this year (2011). All the dams ware flooded with massive water pressure … and every day they are realising thousands of cusec water for the protective measure of the dams. The heavy rain for as long as 10 days and these extra water from the dams like Maithon and Panchet … totally makes the life miserable for the all in West Bengal. Cholamu Lake – India’s Highest Lake

Himalayan range is abode of many of world’s high altitude lakes, many of these high altitude glacial lakes fall in India. World’s 14^th highest lake and India’s highest lake is Cholamu lake.A mighty elevation of 18000 feet from the sea level takes Cholamu lake to the top of the “highest lakes” list . While coming down the slope around 300 feet from Donkiala pass ( 18300 feet ) , one gets the first glimpses of this rather moderately sized , almost frozen lake.

Taki is a town and a municipality under Hasnabad police station of Basirhat subdivision.in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal which has an average elevation of 5 metres (16 feet).

If you have planned to visit the place by train,it will take nearly 2 hrs from Sealdah.Or if you have a plan to go their by road it will take nearly 1 hr 30 min.
